By obtaining a record average score of 16.92, the aptly named Gold de Flusel won the coveted title of French Champion in the 3-year-old Selle Français sport horse category at Longines Equita Lyon, Concours Hippique International this Thursday. Much to the delight the Dussaucy family who were responsible for breeding this son of Acantus GK near Vesoul. "This is the 5th time we have taken part in this championship," said Vincent Dussaucy. "We have finished in 4th place twice. This year, I don't really know why, but I felt we could do better and get a podium finish," he added.
The goal was achieved, and in style. Gold de Flusel showed great consistency in this championship which brings together 40 of the best young Selle Français horses in France. He obtained excellent scores in all categories, with 17 in the free jump, 17 in the mounted jump, 17 for gait and 16.80 for model. "He really does seem to have a lot of qualities.
