Full house in the western-riding arenas :
Some of the 400 or so American horses that have arrived at Equita Lyon since the start of the week were presented today on the show's opening day. From top-level sports horses to leisure horses, Equita Lyon caters for every type of rider and showcases all the different western riding disciplines. The 3 arenas had a non-stop programme of competitions, events and demonstrations, and the first visitors to the show were soon filling the grandstands and aisles as the hours went by.
On Wednesday, the first competitions were essentially devoted to the first qualifying rounds for the upcoming finals: barrel-racing, pole bending, ranch riding and reining. Today also marked very first NSBA* performance classes to be organised by the American Association at Equita Lyon in horsemanship, Western pleasure and ranch riding, all held in the Wyoming arena.
