TAKING CARE OF A PONY
In the centre of the Children's Village, the grooming and pony-care workshop lets youngsters learn about ponies and touch them.
This activity enables young children to discover the pony overall. And yes, ponies are warm when you put your hand on them! And for a good reason: because they are living animals! In addition, the teachers from the Laizé Pony Club are on hand to explain to the children how to take care of the animal.
For children from 3 to 8 years old, the grooming workshop allows them to learn how to recognise brushes and to grease the feet of Ulk, Pipo and Quach-Quach (the ponies at the show)! For 8–12-year-olds, the health-care workshop allows them to recognise the signs of a healthy pony, to take its temperature and listen to its heart. Finally, the hippology workshop, also open to older children, gives participants some basic knowledge about ponies: size, pony category, etc.
