A lesson with Isabell Werth
Organised on the initiative of the French Equestrian Society (SHF), four young dressage horses from different French stables were put through their paces by the German champion Isabell Werth on Friday morning at Equita Lyon. Over the course of the morning, this workshop made it possible to showcase some of the young talents of tomorrow, but also to benefit from the technical advice of the most successful Olympic sportswoman ever, all sports combined.
"I must say that all the horses had great qualities and potential," said the German rider at the end of the workshop. "Based on my first impression, I adapted my advice to each case and gave riders some ideas to work on to help them progress. I can fully imagine that these horses will reach Grand Prix level in a few years' time: they move well, they are supple and have great aptitude," said Isabell Werth.
"She managed to assess the horses in such a short time," said Marine Subileau, who was riding Deauville de Hus, by Don Juan de Hus. "She never made them feel uncomfortable and didn't forget that they were young horses. My horse, which tends to be quite nervous, responded really well to the experience. She put us in an environment that took the pressure off us. So, the horse remained perfectly concentrated. “It was a great moment!"
The horses presented were:
- KIR ROYAL (HERZENSDIEB and BACHAREL by HIS HIGHNESS), four-year-old male, presented by Julien Vincent.
- DARLING FLOWER (DON JUAN DE HUS and ROMINA by ROTSPON) five-year-old mare presented by Laetitia Isselin.
- JAMES BOND DE MASSA (BRAVOUR B and XIXIRITA by XAQUIRO CIP), five-year-old male, presented by Arnaud Serre.
