Veni vidi vici:the Dries Degrieck drives to victory
He came, he saw, he conquered. The Belgian driver Dries Degrieck won the first round of the FEI Driving World Cup in Lyon, presented by La Laiterie de Montaingu. At the end of a class involving 7 drivers, including the Australian multi-medal-winning Boyd Exell, the Flemish driver produced the best performance, with his spectacular and very fast quartet of KWPN horses.
As a regular participant on the indoor circuit, Dries Degrieck made a perfect start to the competition. "This is the first I have competed in Lyon. And it's also the first time I have participated in the FEI Driving World Cup indoor season", said the young driver from near Brussels. Will today's winner confirm his position during the second round, which will take place on Sunday, rounding off Longines Equita Lyon? "I will try to not let the horses go too much, keep control and put in a good performance," he promised.
