Where vocations are born
Did you know that horse-riding and the wide range of different equestrian activities represent a major economic sector in France and Europe? Equita Lyon, le Salon du Cheval de Lyon has been actively supporting the equestrian sector for the last 30 years and helps young people learn about the equestrian world through a wide range of events aimed at encouraging or confirming potential professional vocations. With this in mind, the Children's Village welcomes very young children from the age of three upwards to take part in a great programme of activities. The Village is located right in the centre of the show and kids can learn to ride in total safety under the watchful eye of state-qualified instructors, thanks to introductory pony-riding sessions organised continuously throughout the day. For those who prefer show jumping "on foot" (yes, indeed!), the Longines Kids Corner organises one of the most fun Grand Prix events: the "hobby-horse" Grand Prix! The "power of horses" can also be found under the bonnet of the mini electric cars that Defender makes available to budding racing drivers on a special track that has proven to be a great success in the Children's Village. Equita Lyon also caters for the interest of older children in "Place des Métiers" (Job Area). The equestrian sector covers more than fifty professions, ranging from riding instructor to saddle-maker and groom, and offers a wealth of recruitment and training opportunities. In partnership with Equi-ressources, a free service provided by the IFCE (French Horse and Equestrianism Institute), recruiters will be on site in the Job Area to meet people interested in working in the equestrian world. Equita Lyon represents thirty years of a shared passion, serving the equestrian sector of tomorrow!
