The Equita Lyon Horse Show and its Longines Equita Lyon International Equestrian Competition are reference events for riding fans around the globe. At the same time, the show provides a great opportunity for newcomers to discover every facet of the equestrian world. Whether with your family or friends, don't miss the great programme of events and activities the show has in store for you this year!
FIVE GOOD REASONS NOT TO MISS THE SHOW
1 - The bustling trade show, with its exhibitors and horse breeders
In an exhibition space covering some 140,000m2 at the show, the 800 exhibitors and breeders at Equita Lyon will be presenting the latest equipment available for horses and riders, as well as various products and services catering for every need. As you stroll around the aisles, you will discover every breed of horse and pony - from the smallest to the biggest, from the cutest to the hairiest - and find all the new products on the market. There are also restaurants and snack-bars and stands with sweets where you can treat yourself during the visit.
2 - The Children's Village and its programme of activities for the whole family
Every day, the Lyon Horse Show gives you the opportunity to enjoy some unforgettable moments with the whole family... In the children's village, your kids can learn how to caress, brush and even ride a pony. They can also take part in drawing workshops, games and go for a ride on the carousel. The equestrian cabaret is presented twice a day in the Nikito arena, and it is guaranteed to make the whole family smile. Combining acrobatics, poetry and humour, the cabaret artists perform a breath-taking one-and-a-half hour show! After spending the day discovering the world of ponies and horse-riding, watching competitions and taking part in a host of different activities, the show will bring the curtain down on a great day out for both parents and their children.
3 - Take a journey to the American West in the Western-riding area
Plunge into the world of the Wild West in the Western-riding area at Equita Lyon! Discover the flagship disciplines of American-style riding, which originated from working on the ranches, and cheer on the world's best riders during the various competitions. Lyon hosts some of the biggest European Reining, Cutting and Barrel Racing competitions! Immerse yourself in the thrilling world of western riding ...and who knows, you may even leave with a pair of cowboy boots on your feet and a cowboy hat on your head!
4 - Enjoy elite-level sport during the four FEI World Cup stages
During the Longines Equita Lyon International Equestrian Competition, you can attend the four stages of the FEI World Cups in show jumping, dressage and driving.
